Prof Noluxolo Gcaza

Professor Noluxolo Gcaza, an Associate Professor at Nelson Mandela University, is deeply committed to cybersecurity education and community engagement. As the coordinator of the Cyber Security Postgraduate Diploma, she teaches vital modules like Cyber Security Governance and Professional Skills. Beyond academia, she founded the Cyber Culture Foundation, a non-profit organization that simplifies cybersecurity for communities, ensuring it's understood and applied at a personal level.

Prof. Gcaza's work extends to pioneering a Grade R project, teaching young children to be responsible digital citizens. Her research focuses on developing effective cyber safety programs for young learners, starting them early in understanding the importance of protecting their data and mental well-being online.

Her journey from an IT student, driven by the need for job security, to a respected professor was fueled by mentors who believed in her potential. Today, she carries forward that legacy by empowering the next generation, especially young women, to believe in their voices and embrace their inner greatness. "Your journey is as important as your destination," she says, encouraging others to trust in their imagination and abilities as they carve their paths in life.
