Land reform focus of discussion at Vrystaat Arts Festival

As a public higher-education institution in South Africa with a responsibility to contribute to public discourse, the University of the Free State (UFS) will be presenting the inaugural UFS Thought-Leader Series as part of the Free State Arts Festival, which takes place on the Bloemfontein Campus from 8 to 14 July 2018. This year’s debates will focus on land reform and various issues that will be impacted by this, such as human rights, organised agriculture, and food security.

The Editor in Chief of the Huffington Post, Pieter du Toit will facilitate the series. Some of the panellists include experts from the UFS, UCT and Wits, the President of the African Farmers Association of South Africa, the head of Land Affairs for AgriSA, the Head of Agribusiness Research at the Agricultural Business Chamber, and the Director of the Bureau for Economic Research.
