Innocensia Mangoato says she’s always had an interest in science, and initially wanted to study medicine. She ended up doing a BSc in Physiology and genetics.

Innocensia Mangoato, Pharmacology Masters graduate, recently appeared on SABC3's flagship youth programme Hectic Nine9, after her research on using cannabis in cancer treatment earned her a 2018 Women in Science Award.

Blind UFS student graduates in music

Mr Dewald van Deventer, a blind student from the University of the Free State (UFS), received the degree B.Mus. during the autumn graduation ceremony of the Faculty of the Humanities held on the Main Campus in Bloemfontein this week. Some of his family members celebrated the achievement with him. Here are, from the left: Mr Louis van Deventer, Mr van Deventer, and Ms Lucretia van Deventer.
