Representative of the alumni on the University Council

The composition of the Council of the University of the Free State is stipulated in the Statute of the University of the Free State, as promulgated in the Government Gazette of 27 August 2010. The term of Mrs Lorraine Roux (née Kriek), one of the representatives of the alumni, expired on 16 June 2016. The Statute determines that  alumni are entitled to three representatives in the council, of whom one should be an alumnus of the Qwaqwa Campus of the UFS. The UFS Statute defines “alumni” as “all former students who were registered for a qualification at the University." No person who is currently enrolled for an undergraduate qualification at the university qualifies as an alumnus.

The following candidates were nominated for the category of the Alumni representative:

Mr Morné Kruger   |   Ms FKP Ntlemeza   |   Mr GC Stroebel  |   Dr MJ Swart

(The CVs of the aforementioned candidates are available for inspection by clicking on their names.)

Members of the alumni of the University of the Free State are hereby requested to vote for ONE (1) of the above mentioned alumni candidates on or before Friday 14 October at 16:30. Please note: Each member of the alumni has only ONE (1) vote.
