Compulsory National Benchmark Tests (NBTs)
The National Benchmark Tests are compulsory for all University of the Free State (UFS) applicants.
The last opportunity for all students to write the NBTs is:
- 30 June 2019 for students who have applied to the Faculty of Health Sciences (School of Medicine or School of Allied Health Sciences).
- 1 December 2019 for all other students who have applied to the UFS (Bloemfontein and Qwaqwa campuses).
Registration for all NBTs opens on 1 April 2019.

NBT General Information
It is COMPULSORY for all prospective UFS students to write the National Benchmark Tests (NBTs) BEFORE registration in 2020. We thus recommend that prospective students write the NBTs during their Grade 12 year or in 2019.
The UFS has an NBT registration station, where students can register for the tests. This service is available at the Benito Khotseng Building, Room LG5, between 14:00 and 16:00 daily from 1 April 2019.

To request your NBT results you need:
- Your NBT password (The one you created when you booked for the test'),
- Your full names (As provided on the 'NBT answer sheet'), and
- Your ID number (As provided on the 'NBT answer sheet')
