Short CV

Ms Beaula Kruger is the Project Assistant Researcher for Difficult Dialogues at the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL). As the Project Assistant, Ms Kruger assist the Difficult Dialogues Project Co-oordinator with the development of the art and skill of civil discourse in higher education. Therefore the Difficult Dialogues project emphasises the development of academic members of staff to engage students in explorations of controversial issues relating to curricular content. The topics of discussion range from issues of identity, such as race, culture, politics, religion, etc.

Ms Kruger has also worked at other divisions at the Centre for Teaching and Learning including;  New Academic Tutorical Programme (NATP) as both a tutor and  Research Assistant and UFS 101.  As a Research Assistant for the NATP, Ms Kruger`s main responsibilities included administration, and  data capturing,  analysis and writing reports for the main campus. Ms Kruger holds a secondary post at the Department of Political Studies and Governance as a co-presenter for the Service Learning Module for  third year students and fives facilitation classes to students in the extended programme.

Ms Kruger obtained her B.A. Honores (Political Science: International Relations) and her undergraduate degree in B.A (Political Science: Governance and Political Transformation) both at the University of the Free State.     Ms Kruger is c completed  her second post graduate qualification  in Governance and Political Transformation. Ms Kruger is currently doing her Masters in Political Science and intend on registering for her LLB Law Degree later in 2014.

Courses Presented

Since 2011, Ms Beaula Kruger has become actively involved in presenting classes to students in the extended programme on the Main campus. The modules listed below are presented in English and Afrikaans;

  1. (PTW 114)  Introduction to Politics;  (PTW 144) Introduction to  Governance and  Transformation and (PTW 124)  ntroduction to International Relations for the Department of Political Studies and Governance.
  2. (EPAM 62406) Public Administration and Management in Action for the Faculty of Economic and Management Sciences from 2010-2011.
  3. (SDL 314) Service Learning based on "Human Rights"  for  the Faculty of the Humanities.


Community Service

Member of the South African Higher Education Community Engagement Forum (SAHECEF) at the University of the Free State (UFS).

Co-presents Service Learning Module (SDL 314) for Department of Governance and Political Studies: Faculty of the Humanities (UFS)

Community Service for Residence Committee of House Akasia (UFS). The residence targeted various disadvantaged communities, providing clothing, food, and regular visitation to high schools.
