You can not really “transfer” from one university to another! You will have to apply to study at the UFS and should have the necessary qualifications as prescribed by the UFS. Apply at https://apply.ufs.ac.za/ or phone 051-4013000 and ask our marketing office to send you an application form.

This is not an automatic procedure – it is actually a complicated and long procedure! The UFS cannot automatically give you credit/acknowledgement for a module passed at another university. We should first establish exactly what is the course content (syllabus) of those modules, the credit level as well as the academic quality. This evaluation is done by the head of the department where each specific module is taught at the UFS. To enable these persons to consider if you may receive credit/acknowledgement for the module done at another university, he/she should have the exact course content (syllabus) at hand. You should obtain this information from your previous university on a hard copy and this document should be attached to your application at the UFS.

In short:
Send you application form to the UFS, together with the documents as stated on the application form (ID, Senior Certificate, Proof of payment etc).

Also send your academic record from you previous university, showing the modules that you have passed as well as a document with the course contents (syllabuses) of these modules.

If you are still busy studying these modules, or awaiting you results – please send the course content (syllabuses) in any case to enable the UFS to establish if you will qualify for credits /acknowledgement for the modules when you pass them. The closing date for this application for credit/acknowledgement is 30 November. Please indicate clearly which modules you are applying for to be credited/acknowledged.

Please do not wait until you have you final results available (i.e. in December or January) to apply for credits/acknowledgement because that will leave us with too little time for the credit application process. The professors who should decide about your possible acknowledgements (credits) will not be available after the date stated above. If this process is not completed by the date of registration, you will have to wait until the next registration occasion to receive the credits/acknowledgements. We do not have the resources available during the registration process to apply for your credits/acknowledgements!! You can apply at https://apply.ufs.ac.za/.
