Sundry bursaries

The university has various bursaries available for general or specific fields of study, or in specific departments and faculties. Applications for these bursaries close on 17 September (seniors) and 31 October (first-years).

Bursaries in this section are awarded automatically in view of academic merit and students do not have to apply for such bursaries. No service obligations are attached to any of the bursaries described in this section.

SECTION (II) On allocating bursaries in this section, the financial position of the parent/guardian as well as academic performance are taken into account. All students who apply for financial support at the UFS are considered automatically for these bursaries, and they should therefore complete the usual application form for financial support before 17 September (seniors) and 31 October (first-years). These bursaries need not be specified.

SECTION (III) Students must apply for bursaries in this section before 15 December each year. Separate application forms should be completed, taking into consideration certain conditions. Application forms are available from: The Deputy Director, Student Financial Aid, UFS, PO Box 339, Bloemfontein 9300.
