Dr Eugene Msizi Buthelezi

Dr Eugene Msizi Buthelezi is an nGAP lecturer in Economics at the University of the Free State. He holds a PhD in Economics with specialisation in fiscal policy, public debt dynamics, and macroeconomic stability. His research focuses on monetary-fiscal policy interactions, sovereign debt sustainability, uncertainty and macro-financial linkages, and the application of advanced econometric techniques, including time-varying volatility models and regime-switching frameworks, to emerging market economies. His recent work examines fiscal consolidation, geopolitical risk, and the transmission of monetary policy to financial markets.
