Prof Frikkie Mare
Area of expertise: Agricultural Economics
Faculty/Department: Natural and Agricultural Sciences
Prof Frikkie Mare is in possession of a PhD (Agriculture) and his area of specialisation is Agricultural Economics.
His field of operations in the agricultural sector is broad but his specific areas of speciality is in the red meat value chain including primary production, feedlots and the final consumer as well as the linkages between them. Prof Mare’s research focuses on elements in the red meat value chain that can be enhanced for the benefit of the role players in the industry while keeping economic, environmental and social sustainability in mind.
