Current work
I, Alistair Naidoo, am currently a technician working at the Genetics department, at the University of the Free State. I started this position in 2022 and am involved in maintaining the zebrafish unit, lab management, facilitation and sample collection.
Education
My primary and secondary education began in Durban and ended in Kimberly, at Northern Cape High, in 2016. In 2017, I started my undergraduate journey at the University of the Free State and managed to complete my honours degree in 2020. Presently, I am completing my Masters degree in Genetics.
Skills and experience
I am someone who is patient, responsible and dedicated. My skills include having the knowledge on operating the majority of equipment used in the workflow of genetic analysis, zebrafish monitoring, breeding and rearing. Additionally, I have good communication and organizational skills.
I have experience facilitating, presently in my position and also from my time working with UJ between 2020 and 2021. I have minor experience on managing a research lab after assisting and working with my current lab manager.
