Armentum, Expression of identity

Since 1968, the Armentum Residence Community has been carving out their niche on the Kovsie campus. The name Armentum comes from the Latin word meaning 'a herd'; a powerful and graceful image that links with our emblem of an elephant and signifies a community of brotherhood and strength. We invite you to become part of our 174-man community, where you will be steeped in Kovsie culture and tradition.

Rootedness is a big part of the Armentum community and we pride ourselves on the inviting and welcoming space we create for our students. While we aim to excel in all things on campus, like sport, academics or culture, we also understand the importance of enjoying student life. Playing touchies or serenading a ladies' residence is just a few of the ways we immerse ourselves in campus life. By encouraging participation, we know our students will forge lasting friendships and memories for a lifetime.

At Armentum, we value both the unique identity of each individual, as well as our shared identity as a residence. This expression of unique and shared identity is reflected in our slogan 'Guard your identity'.

While you belong to the Armentum community, you will be inspired to find your own voice to add to the thriving choir we are. So come and find your unique voice and be part of the powerful force, the Armentum community.
