If you ever thought about ways to improve access, skills, and throughput in your class, IDEAS Lab is the place to go to. We assist academics and other relevant role players to:
- Improve access in academic programmes for students who would like to study in your faculty but are unable to physically attend classes, by offering the programme online through distance education.
- Develop scarce skills in South Africa by offering online short learning programmes.
- Improve throughput rates and understanding of learning material by using quality digital learning artefacts.
IDEAS Lab on the South Campus is ready to assist academic staff who would like to move beyond the boundaries of the campus by developing online resources and programmes. These learning artefacts include, among others, videos, multimedia activities, and simulations as well as fully online programmes on Blackboard.
The Graphics Team within the IDEAS Lab was initially established to assist the ACT Online qualifications team. When other staff on campus heard about their expertise, the team became popular on the South Campus, resulting in different departments making use of their services.
IDEAS Lab is also involved in the Online Advanced Certificate in Teaching
