Explore South Campus

The South Campus is a non-traditional campus without faculty structures. The entire focus of the South Campus is to provide open and lifelong-learning opportunities, to broaden access to higher education, and to offer continuing and distance higher-education programmes to students who are unable to study at a university through a traditional, full-time, on-campus mode.

The programmes offered by the South Campus are divided into three categories. These are: Distance-education programmes, short learning programmes, and access programmes. We provide expert support to faculties, departments, and lecturers to enable online and other distance-education programme offerings.

We also address our social responsibility through a variety of collaborative projects in schools.

The vision of the South Campus is that:

Vision and Mission of South CampusThrough the South Campus the UFS will harness a wide range of open and lifelong learning principles and methods to broaden access, and offer continuing and distance education to deserving students who are unable to study at the university through traditional, full-time, on-campus higher education programmes.

Given this vision, the mission is to:

Function as a coordinating campus for all open distance education activities that seek to harness open and lifelong learning principles and methods to broaden access to higher education opportunities for all.
