The University of the Free State (UFS) has received a donation of approximately R70 000’s worth of medical equipment from ER24 and Mediclinic for the upgrading of Shimla Park’s medical room at the Bloemfontein Campus. According to Ms Arina Otto from the Sports Medicine Clinicat the UFS, medical care at Shimla Park is improved by this donation.

Apart from this donation, ER 24 is also involved in the first-aid training of physiotherapists and Human Movement Science students on campus. These students sometimes help in a medical capacity at matches like residences’ rugby on campus.
The donation includes, amongst others, an emergency bag, equipped for advanced life support, two trauma board sets with neck braces and head immobilisers and an electronic blood-pressure meter.
