As part of the Health and Wellness lunch time series of presentations, UFS staff members were recently informed on the benefits of exercise. This was an aspect of a healthy lifestyle that has been emphasised in previous sessions. Belinda Viljoen, founder and main instructor of Studio B, presented on these benefits.

Viljoen started by pointing out the main areas influenced directly by exercise, namely social, physical, and emotional well-being. One’s time management and communication skills are improved through the social aspect of exercise. It also decreases the stress, depression, anxiety and irritability we tend to experience.
“The less you do, the less you want to do,” Viljoen stated as she delved into the physical aspect.

Among other things, Viljoen also included the studios and/or gyms located in Bloemfontein where individuals can participate in formal exercise classes such as yoga, Pilates, Zumba, and HIIT,  to name a few.
