2021 Rector’s Concert
We’re all in this together
The
Rector and Vice-Chancellor of the University of the Free State (UFS), Prof Francis Petersen, has the pleasure of inviting you to the second virtual Rector’s Concert.Dedicated to our first-year students and in celebration of the year that was, the concert performances by our talented students, staff, and alumni can be watched from the comfort of your home. Join us in celebrating our first-year students and our many accomplishments despite the challenges we have all faced this year – remember, we’re all in this together.
The line-up includes guest artist, Caroline-Grace, an alumna of the UFS who finished in the top four of the second season of ‘The Voice SA’ in 2017.
Well-known performers such as the Odeion String Quartet, the OSM Camerata, Thabo Pitse and HD El Classico, Corneil Muller, the BOSSa Quartet, Organized Chaos, Boitumelo Mohutsioa (aka Be), Dineo Bokala, and Ilse Fourie promise a spectacular event. UFS academic chosen to condition the Bokke for Rugby World Cup

Dr Derik Coetzee |
Dr Derik Coetzee from our Department of Exercise and Sport Sciences was again selected to prepare the Springboks for the World Cup tournament. Dr Coetzee will look after the conditioning of the Bokke.
He will further also assist the team with regard to medical matters. Pieter de Villiers, Bok coach, stated that they had recruited people who could make a marked difference.
Dr Coetzee was a member of Jake White’s managerial team behind the Bokke who won the Rugby World Cup in 2007.
