media Release

Contrary to communication on social media platforms this week that there is a shortfall of students in the University of the Free State (UFS) Faculty of Education to meet the faculty’s set enrolment targets for 2023, the UFS is unable to register any prospective walk-in students in the Faculty of Education or any of its other six faculties.

The university’s registration process for undergraduate students closed on 17 February 2023.

The university is aware that there has been some confusion regarding the availability of space in the Faculty of Education for first-time-entering students in the 2023 academic year, and apologises for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Rudi Buys, Dean: Student Affairs, presented his research proposal for a PhD (Higher Education Studies) to a panel of Higher Education specialists on Monday 16 May. Rudi reflected on the patterns of change in race knowledge of students on a post-conflict campus. Professors Jonathan Jansen and Rita Niemann are his internal study promoters.
Afterwards Doctors Annelize Venter (left) and Somarie Holtzhausen (right) made sure that he measured up to be a student at the School of Higher Education Studies!
