NOTICE TO ALL MEMBERS OF THE CONVOCATION OF THE UNIVERSITY OF THE FREE STATE (“UFS”)

 

RE: NOMINATION PROCESS FOR THE ELECTION OF THE PRESIDENT AND
VICE-PRESIDENT OF THE CONVOCATION 

 

Members of the Convocation are invited to submit nominations for the President and Vice-President of the Convocation of the UFS.

1. ELIGIBILITY AND TERM OF OFFICE

A member of the Convocation is eligible for election to the office of President if he/she has been a member of the Convocation for at least 10 years.

The President holds office for a period of five years, and (provided that he/she is not an employee or a registered student of the UFS) represents the Convocation on the UFS Council for the term prescribed by the Council.

If the President vacates his/her office, the Vice-President will act as the President until the vacancy has been filled. The Vice-President’s term of office will also be five years.

2. PROCEDURE FOR NOMINATIONS

The  nomination form  should be completed and signed, as indicated, and submitted to the Registrar of the University by 16:30 on Tuesday, 14 January 2020. A motivation and a detailed as well as an abridged curriculum vitae of the candidate should be attached to the nomination form.

Late or incomplete nominations will not be accepted or considered.
