The venue

Clarens is a picturesque little town at the foothills of the Maluti Mountains. The symposium will be hosted at the Protea Hotel. The negotiated rate for symposium delegates is R 1,300 per night (Standard room incl. Breakfast and Dinner with 2 soft drinks) for 15-17 September 2015. Use "ISPN 2015" as reference when making the booking). However, there is a range of accommodation alternatives available in town and everything is within walking distance of one another.

How to get there

Clarens is approximately 300 km from Johannesburg, Bloemfontein and Durban (3 to 4 hours’ driving).

Air travel

Most of the world's airlines fly to South Africa, mostly directly to O.R. Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg. Some local airlines have a route from Johannesburg to Bethlehem, which is close-by to Clarens. Delegates can rent a car or shuttle from there.


Bus travel


Greyhound and Intercape have routes from all the main towns to Bethlehem, which is close-by to Clarens. Delegates can rent a car or shuttle from there.


Shuttle services


Maluti Footprints and Tours provides shuttle services as well as an assortment of tours. They will co-ordinate the logistics of transporting delegates arriving on different dates and times (min. 8 persons/trip given the distance).
