A draft symposium programme will be available once registrations have been finalised (after 6 August 2021. All sessions will be plenary. Each session will be 30 minutes long: 20 minutes for presentation, 10 minutes for Q&A.

Gala dinner: Thursday, 30 September 2021 (included in in-person registration fee)

Preliminary venue: Pimento Restaurant on campus. Limited drinks will be provided and a cash bar will be available. Remember to indicate any dietary preferences on the registration form.

Cultural tour: Saturday, 2 October 2021 (NOT included in the registration fee)

Fee: R 1 000.
Includes transport, guide, water, and lunch.

Cultural tour itinerary

The tour will be offered at a relaxed and informative pace.
Collect group.
Brief talk at Naval Hill.
Drive around the Franklin Game Reserve.
Head to Batho, where we will see the Thomas Maphikela House and Dirigateng (the place of curtains).
Visit the National Women's Monument and the Anglo-Boer War Museum.
Drive down the historical St George's and President Brand streets.
Lunch at the Free State Botanical Gardens.
Short walk around the Gardens.
Visit Oliewenhuis Art Gallery.
End of tour.

NB: Remember a hat and sunscreen.
