Cultural tour programme
Morning
Scenic drive through the Maluti Mountains. Breathtaking scenic stops along the way. The area is rich in fossils and history. We will stop at the Langtoon Dam within the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, enjoy the high viewpoints and visit the vulture restaurant. After this, we will learn and experience some of the Basotho culture at the Basotho Cultural Village. A light brunch will be served here to tide us over until the braai.
Afternoon
The afternoon will kick off with a short historical walk on a private game farm. We'll learn about the unique history of the area. This includes a visit to the caves behind Clarens where Paul Kruger hid some families during the South African war. Then on to the Lapa where a nice, light braai will be served as a late lunch. After some relaxation, we'll head out for sundowners on top of the mountain near Titanic Rock, overlooking Clarens and surroundings. Alcoholic beverages for sundowners will be billed separately closer to the time.
NB: Remember a hat and sunscreen.
