The Thursday night visit to a shebeen (close to where the African National Congress, the current ruling party, was formed in 1912) is not included in the formal social program. This event will give valuable insight into the life and culture of the African people in the townships before and after Apartheid (1994). This special evening of traditional food, drink and music will be arranged by Ral Events (www.ralevents.co.za). The cost (R190 pp) includes transport by township taxis, supper, live music, a welcome drink (“mgobhothi”) and the first drink (beer or soft drink).

Bookings for this informal event can be made and paid for through the ICRBM4 Conference Secretariat on Monday 12 or Tuesday morning 13 April.
