In order to facilitate the arrangement of the Forum, kindly take cognisance of the information about participation and guidelines.

The abstract must be completed online in accordance with this template. The limits for the content are a maximum of 2 500 characters (or approximately 300 words).

  • Should you wish to make any changes to your abstract after submission, please contact Monica Fleischman to make arrangements (+27 51 401 7501 | FleischmanM@ufs.ac.za).
  • All submissions will be subjected to evaluation prior to inclusion in the Faculty Research Forum.
  • Feedback will be available should an abstract not be accepted for presentation at the Faculty Research Forum.
  • Submissions have to be approved by the HOD / Head of School before it will be sent to the Internal Evaluation Committees for evaluation. This process will happen automatically and researchers will receive notification should the HOD / Head of School require any changes before final submission.
  • All presenters at the Faculty Research Forum are invited to the Prize Giving Ceremony after the Forum. Details would follow. Winners will be contacted before the ceremony.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES FOR POSTERS

  • Electronic versions of the print-ready poster in PDF must be submitted.
  • Five (5) minutes (three [3] minutes for presentation and two [2] minutes discussion and question time included) will be allowed for a poster presentation. The duration will be strictly adhered to. Poster presentations will be presented virtually, with possible exhibition in the Faculty.
  • In case of physical display of poster, size must be a maximum of 1.37 x 1.80 m for exhibition boards.
  • Personnel members that are submitting posters must indicate whether they want their poster to be evaluated.

  • The care that went into the preparation of the poster and the aesthetic impression it creates, its scientific content and value, the methodology, results, and conclusion will play a role in the judging of a poster.

  • Mr L Esau from the Center for Teaching and Learning will assist you regarding the layout and printing of posters.
