Dr Bama is a Senior Lecturer and an Accredited Facilitator at the University of the Free State’s Department of Business Management, with cumulative relevant experience of over a decade within the higher education environment in South Africa. He harbours passion, commitment, discipline for learning and teaching, research growth and excellence, and academic citizenship (community engagement). His research interests are multidisciplinary and cut across the intersection of Marketing, Consumer Behaviour, Event Tourism, Tourism Marketing, and Business Management, aimed at influencing context-specific discourse for marketing with a Global South flavour. He has previously researched tourism`s developmental and management aspects, specifically in sport and event tourism and mega-event legacies, focusing on policy, planning, and implementation strategies for the Global South, with a regional interest in sub-Saharan Africa.

Dr Bama has received various accolades along his research journey, most recently being selected as the Researcher of the Year Award 2022 winner in the "Emerging Category" in the Faculty of Business and Management Sciences, CPUT.
