Short CV

James Faber started his studies at the University of the Free State in 1997 and obtained his B. Proc. degree in 2001 and his LL. B. degree in 2002. In 2003 he obtained his LL. M. (cum laude) in Private Law for which he received Academic Honours Colours. He successfully completed the School for Legal Practice in 2002 and was awarded the Best Candidate: Wills, Estates and Trusts. On 27 February 2003 he was admitted as an attorney in the High Court of South Africa.

He was appointed to the Department of Private Law in July 2007. He teaches Law of Succession and Administration of Estates. He has delivered a number of papers at national conferences and has authored a number of accredited research publications.
