Remote Sign Language Interpreting Workshop

Date: 12-13 July 2021
Time: 09:00-13:00

Sign Language Networking
(R150pp or register for the workshop and attend this session for free)
Date: 12 July 2021
Time: 14:00-16:00

During the Covid-19 pandemic, remote  Sign Language Interpreting became the new normal.  As SASLI’s we have been forced to use technology which means no face-to-face contact with our clients.  We are more exposedtocriticism; we have less support from cointerpreters; and our role now seems to include being a IT specialist; etc.

This workshop aims to equip South African Sign Language (SASL) Interpreters to deal with the challenges of remote interpreting, including practical tips for interpreting online and the use of various online platforms.

We are also presenting a SASL terminology networking session to discuss terminology management and signs used in different regions.

The costs of  this workshop is R500 per person. A certificate of attendance will be awarded.
