This step is only applicable if you don't already have a Google account.
If you have already have gmail, you automatically have a Google account, so skip this step.

Click on your choice: What device will you use to create your Google account:

• a laptop / desktop computer
• a mobile device (phone or tablet)

If you are able to log into your gmail, skip this step.

This step is only applicable if you have not yet signed into your Google account.
If you have already logged into Google, e.g. your gmail, and you can see your picture / initial in the profile circle, skip this step.

This step is only applicable if you have not yet joined the Google Classroom for this course. This is a once-off step.

• If you have registered for this course, you should have an invitation to Google Classroom for this course. Click on this invitation to join Google Classroom.
• Alternatively, join with the class code you will be sent via Whatsapp

 

This step is applicable if you have previously joined the Google Classroom for this course. If not, first join (see above).

• Open Google Chrome.
• Make sure you are signed into your Google account. Check that your picture / initial shows in the top right hand corner of Chrome. If someone else is signed in , you need to switch accounts: in the top-right corner, click the profile picture / initial, then select or add your account.
• Go to Classroom. Two ways you could do this:
  1. go to classroom.google.com or
  2. click on the Google apps icon in Google Chrome (9 dots in top right hand corner), scroll down (you probably need to click 'More') until you see the Classroom icon
• You should see a small frame of the Google Classroom "Teach Online SLP", as well as frames for any other Classes you have every joined or created.
• Move your mouse over the "Teach Online SLP" frame until your cursor turns from an arrow into a hand. That tells you that you are over 'clickable' content.
• Click on the name "Teach Online SLP" to open it.

• You should see a small frame of the Google Classroom "Teach Online SLP".
• Move your mouse over this frame until your cursor turns from an arrow into a hand. That tells you that you are over 'clickable' content.
• Click on the name "Teach Online SLP" to open it.
• Notice the top bar: Stream, Classwork, People
• Click on each of these to explore.
• Click on Classwork. Notice that the modules for this course appear.

1. Notice the Introduce yourself question on Google Classroom. You can see this either on:
• Stream.: 'TeachOnlineSLP posted a new question: Introduce yourself. Click to go to the question.
• Classwork: Introduce yourself. Click View question to go to the question.
2. Introduce yourself to your colleagues in the Class comments section. Use the instructions to guide you.
3. Post to the class: Press the arrow on the right.
4. Say something to your instructor in the Private comments section on the right. Press the arrow to post.
5. Read your peers' comments and respond to them.
6. Go to the People tab to see the names of the Teachers and Classmates in this SLP.
