1. What impact has GradStar had on your life in 2018?

It made me realise that there is so much which one can achieve if you grab as many opportunities as possible. It also changed the way I approach my studies, because I have now realised that being an all-rounder is much more beneficial than being only academically inclined, as your marks will get you the interview but everything else will get you the job.

2. How do you stay motivated and on track with your studies?

I constantly remind myself of my end goals and what plans I need to put in place to reach them. On that note, I find keeping track of your progress and celebrating the small victories equally as important. One of the more cliché things I find helpful is having a good balance between your academic and social life.

3. What drives you to excel in your studies?

Where I see myself in a few years, therefore my goals, as well as the life I would like to live in the future are some of the main driving forces. Another driving force is the love I have for what I am studying.

4. Will you recommend GradStar to other students? Why/Why not?

Yes, I would recommend that other students take part in GradStar because the tasks you are asked to do are structured in a way where it not only tests you but it also allows you to learn more about yourself as well as learn new things. It also opens many new doors for you that you never even knew existed in the first place.

5. What are your plans for 2019?

In 2019, I plan to finish my third year and then eventually move on to my honours. I would also like to take advantage of other initiatives similar to GradStar.
