Institutional Reporting

Institutional reporting on Internationalisation ensures that the UFS complies with the reporting requirements as set out in the National Policy Framework on the Internationalisation of Higher Education which was promulgated on 6 November 2020. The importance of this portfolio is to enhance and strengthen the UFS’ reporting culture as it relates to Internationalisation of Higher Education.

National Policy Framework and UFS's Internationalisation Strategy

The National Policy Framework for the Internationalisation of Higher Education is a guideline developed by the South African government to advance the internationalisation of higher education institutions in the country. It provides a strategic approach to fostering global engagement, collaboration, and partnerships within the higher education sector. The framework aims to enhance the quality of education and research, promote South African universities as globally competitive institutions, and ensure that internationalisation efforts align with national development priorities. It also addresses aspects such as student mobility, collaborative research, and the integration of international perspectives into curricula.

The UFS’s Internationalisation Strategy, aligned with the National Policy Framework for the Internationalisation of Higher Education, strengthens its global impact by enabling students and staff to contribute as global citizens to the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Through equitable global collaborations, the university fosters knowledge co-creation and gains global recognition for its innovative ideas.
