Researcher Excellence Accelerator Programme
The REAP programme seeks to understand the unique research development needs of ECRs where-after similar clusters can be formed and the support structures needed can be developed for each cluster as an effective strategy for the holistic support of emerging scholars.
Who can apply?
All permanent, full-time UFS employees who are:
a) at the starting point of their PhDs,
b) in the process of completing their PhD, or
c) graduated with their PhD’s within the last three years (i.e. since 2022).
Emerging Scholar Scholar Accelerator Programme
The Emerging Scholar Accelerator Programme provide opportunities for emerging scholars who shows a deep commitment to the pursuit of advanced scholarship to develop the competencies to make a significant impact on their disciplines.
Who can apply?
Academic staff members two to five years post PhD and preferably under forty five years of age
Future Professoriate
The Future Professoriate Mentoring Programme was implemented to support and mentor advanced emerging scholars on the cusp of promotion to senior academic positions. The goal of the programme is to grow a representative critical mass of early-career academics with the attributes required to advance to professoriate levels.
Who can apply?
Academic staff members six to eight years post PhD and preferably under forty five years.
Women Influencing and Shaping Education
The WISE mentoring programme focuses on mid-career academic women who already have a skill-set and life experience and express the need to plough back, influencing and shaping education whilst increasing their research productivity and impact as well as leadership capacity. The aim is to create opportunities to achieve excellence in academic leadership.
Who can apply?
Permanently employed mid-career academic woman, 40 years and older, who have not yet participated in any UFS mentorship programmes.
