To be a top quality Department of Industrial Psychology in the new South Africa and to establish an appropriate match between the needs of the employer and the employee in terms of the parameters and limitations in the field of Industrial Psychology.
Mission statement
The mission of the department is to equip students in Industrial Psychology with the essential frame of reference, knowledge, and skills to fulfil his/her place in the work environment effectively and efficiently, by:
- Creating and promoting an academic disposition within the undergraduate and postgraduate groups of students in Industrial Psychology;
- Stimulating, encouraging, and developing a holistic way of thinking and the ability of critical scientific thought;
- Stressing the importance of basic and applied research and encouraging, stimulating, and developing knowledge and skills to conduct scientific research;
- Performing community service as a supplement to its core functions of education and research.
