The BAcc Degree Programme is for students who want to qualify as Chartered Accountants (CA(SA)). Chartered Accountants render services not only as accountants but also as taxation, financial, management, and auditing experts. This is a sought-after career for both the corporate and the public sectors.
The BAcc Degree is fully accredited by SAICA. Without additional postgraduate study, a BAcc graduate may obtain full registration with SAIPA and also meet the education requirements of the Associate General Accountant (AGA (SA)) designation. This programme also serves as partial accreditation to CIMA and ACCA.

What are my postgraduate options?
After obtaining the B.Acc. degree and meeting the relevant admission requirements, you will register for either the B.Acc. Honours degree or the PGDip (CA). Successful completion of the postgraduate programme provides entry to SAICA’s first professional examination. After completion of a practical training period as a trainee accountant and the successful completion of a final Assessment of Professional Competence (‘APC’), such candidates may register as a South African Chartered Accountant (‘CA (SA)’) at SAICA.
Alternative postgraduate options for B.Acc graduates include the B.Com. Honours in Management Accounting degree which is aligned to the Advanced Diploma in Management Accounting (‘ADMA’) of CIMA. With the successful completion of the ‘Strategic Level’ of CIMA, and practical training after obtaining the B.Com. Honours in Management Accounting degree, you can qualify as a Chartered Management Accountant.
In addition, B.Acc graduates can also enroll for the B.Com. Honours in Taxation. With the successful completion of SAIT’s entry examinations, and practical training after obtaining of the B.Com. Honours in Taxation, you can qualify as a Tax Advisor (SA).
