1. Investigating the prevalence and distribution of bacterial infection in peritoneal dialysis patients at the Universitas hospital, Bloemfontein

2. Evaluating vancomycin susceptibility testing for methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus using Vitek 2 system, Etest and microdilution test.

3. Molecular diagnosis and characterisation of Bordetella spp. in the southern Free State Province, South Africa

4. Investigate the epidemiological significance of Mycobacterium bovis in South Africa. (in collaboration with the University of Pretoria, Onderstepoort Veterinary campus)
