How does it work? For example: Nero and her team from ICT is currently spending allot of time on ad-hoc requests and queries – there is so much information, and so many priorities… it is a bit of a dilemma.
We jumped right in to analyse her problem and the project possibilities. Our strategy was to Define the problem and objective, Measure the data from the current process, Analyse the outcomes, brainstorm possible solutions and implement the agreed on Improvements. Last but not least, we had to put in place adequate Controls to enforce and make sure the objectives were met.
Our solution was a classification and prioritization step before actioning any work to be done. We wanted to ensure that the requester is informed and could still use the request method they were most comfortable with. We implemented an email to task service that replies with frequent status updates and feedback.
It was not necessary to purchase new software – with a one hour setup change, Nero and her project team had a method and process that does not only provide a baseline for future innovation but also provides them with very useful management information!
