Get help and support

  • Navigate to https://solveit.ufs.ac.za/
  • Log on using your UFS email address as your username and campus password
  • Select Service Catalog to view all categories
  • Select the relevant option:
    • If there are sub-options, select the relevant sub-options
  • Complete each section of the page then click Submit
  • On the Incident page, if you have any additional comments or details you would like to add, enter it in the additional comments text box.
    • If you would like your ICT Liaison or another colleague to keep an eye on the your call, add him/her to the Watch list and click Update Your request will be logged with ICT Servicedesk


Get IT bridging

BAI structures and formalises the relationship between the UFS user function/process community and ICT. This function brings together all aspects related to the management of business architecture, process architecture, user acceptance testing and specification management. This function also provides technical, in-application bridging function to the UFS system’s community.



Back up files and data

Install Druva

  • Click on start, then start typing "software", then the shortcut for software center will show
  • Click on Druva inSync and install to the Downloads folder and right button click on inSync Client-Installer-ver********
  • The Druva shortcut will appear on your desktop, double-click on it. Follow the on-screen instructions

Setup after Installation
Click on the Druva icon on the right side of the taskbar

  • The backup option should stay on "inSync Cloud"
  • Insert your full campus email address and click on continue
  • Next, your browser will open, insert your campus username and password. Click on Activate
  • On the next page, you can click on "send me a push" and it will ask for approval on your cell, click on approve
  • The setup should now be done, and the first backup will start automatically

Restore
Open any browser and type the following URL:

  • https://cloud.druva.com/
  • Select the device that you want to use to restore from
  • Under “Snapshots” select the date that you want to use to restore from
  • Browse to the folder/file that you want to restore
  • Select Restore or Download
  • If you select Download the backup will be download as a Zip file
