Additional examination

Follow these steps to gain access to the Additional Main mid-year examination:
  • Download the Application Form for Additional Examination from the University Free State website and fill it in and according to the prescribed requirements. Additional Examination Applications will close on 22 November 2019 and Appeals on the 26 November 2019.
  • Forms are also available at:
    • The Examination Centre, Room 113, Bloemfontein Campus, OR
    • Administration Building, Room 1 037, Qwaqwa Campus, OR
    • Room D38, South Campus
  • Reasons not accepted to apply for the 2019 Main end-of-year additional exam.
  • Reasons accepted to apply for 2019 Main end-of-year additional exam. 
  • Submit the completed form by hand to:
    • The Examination Centre, Room 113, Bloemfontein Campus, OR
    • Administration Building, Room 1 037, Qwaqwa Campus, OR
    • Room D38, South Campus
  • Courier/Registered post address to:  Head of Examination Administration, Additional examination application, University of the Free State, 205 Nelson Mandela Drive, Examination Centre, First Floor, Room 113, BLOEMFONTEIN, 9301.

  • Fax the application form to:

  • Faxed  and emailed applications will be logged as received and an email will be sent to applicants/students to confirm receipt and remind students to submit the original documents. Applications will only be processed on receipt of all the required original documents – including the original application form.
  • Applications will be kept aside until the original documents are received. Incomplete applications will be sent to electronic filing one month after the end date of the relevant additional examination.
  • Incomplete applications will be logged and an email will be sent to students requesting the outstanding documents. The application will only be processed on receipt of all the required outstanding documents.
  • Applications will be kept aside until the outstanding documents are received and sent to electronic filing before commencement of next examination.
  • Complete applications will be logged and an email will be sent informing the student of the outcome of the application – whether it is:
    • Approved or denied and sent to electronic filing before commencement of next examination.
    • Complete applications will be filed and sent to electronic filing before commencement of the next examination.
