Kovsie Rag 2014 draws near
2014-01-01

The University of the Free State’s (UFS) Rag Community Service will again invade Bloemfontein on 1 February 2014 with both a morning and night procession to plough back into the community.

The morning procession will depart from the Bloemfontein Campus for the Twin City Mall in Heidedal and thereafter move to the Kenilworth Mall. Food parcels will also be distributed on the route, as well as at Twin City and Kenilworth.

The night procession will also start at the Bloemfontein Campus and move down Nelson Mandela Drive to later come to an (provisional) end at the Old Greys Sports Grounds/Rose garden. The night will offer lots of impressive floats, fireworks and various artists who will be performing from the afternoon until late night.

The entrance fee will be R60 per person and R30 for children under 12. Tickets will be available at Computicket and at the gates at Old Greys.

Float building will start on 20 January 2014 and the Ritsim sales will be on 24 and 25 January. The Coronation Ball will be on 14 February 2014, where the Rag queen and Mr Rag will be crowned.
