At the end of a year well spent at our university, McKenzie Ann Snow heads home with surprisingly more than she expected.
“I was surprised by the vibrant international community at the university,” says the 23-year-old Fulbright scholar about her experience at the UFS. “It is also amazing how the university is committed to being really competitive, not only nationally, but also internationally.”
Snow is a Rotary Ambassadorial scholar who visited Kovsies this year. She formed part of the Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) and piloted the Academic Literacy (ALC) programme. “The university is really cosmopolitan and there are a lot of opportunities for students to pursue,” she adds.
While living in Bloemfontein, Snow also took on a secondary project in Heidedal this year, called Reach our Community.
Originally from Wichita in the United States, Snow attained her degree in Political Science from Kansas State University. Over the next two years she will do her master’s in International Development and Management at Lund University in Lund, Sweden.
