“I’m looking forward to my swottings. Everybody knows that Kovsies has the best faculty of law in South Africa. I’m looking forward to meeting new people and learning new things.”
This is according to Rose Anne Tarentaal, Best Personal Achievement winner in Volksblad and the University of the Free State’s 2013 Matriculant of the Year competition.
This prospective LLB student will matriculate at the Oranje Girls’ High School this year. She was a Springbok drum majorette, was named the best soloist during a choir tour in Europe and was a member of the RLC. She also has her hopes on five distinctions in matric.
“The final exams weren’t easy,” she says.
Rose Anne’s sister was also a law student at Kovsies. However, it is the campus life and being a student that attracts her at this stage.
“For 12 years you learn yourself to death. Now I want to do it for four more years,” she sighs to herself.
“I am going to be a resident of House Wag-‘n-Bietjie and can’t wait for Stagedoor, rag and all the new excitement. I believe that university will be even better that school.”
“Kovsies offers so many opportunities for their students, such as the F1 Project (Leadership for Change). Kovsies really is a unique community.”
