Be part of the immersion experience of visual insight at the Johannes Stegmann Art Gallery's popular annual student exhibition. This year's exhibition, "Oculus", includes about 100 works by 26 young emerging artists from the University of the Free State's Fine Arts department.
"Oculus" is more than just a mere student exhibition, it gives the viewer the opportunity to experience the world from a young artist's perspective. Visitors can look forward to a great variety of experimental artworks that serve as powerful visual experiences, ranging from installation paintings that hang from the ceiling to gigantic interactive wooden puzzles. Visitors can expect a dynamic combination of daring and traditional methods of dealing with art.
The opening event is on 9 April at 19:00 in the Johannes Stegmann Art Gallery and the exhibition will continue until 2 May. Admission is free.
