A parking fee will be charged on campus for the first time this year during the Vryfees. This fee of R20 per day per vehicle will be used by the University of the Free State – a festival partner – to finance art projects in collaboration with the Vryfees.
The fee is R20 per day or R60 for the whole week (Tuesday 15 July to Saturday 19 July). Parking will be free on Sunday 20 July. The fee is charged per vehicle, and one parking ticket is valid for the whole day. You can therefore enter and leave the premises as many times as you like. Parking tickets are available in advance from Computicket.
Tickets will also be available at the gates. Two Computicket officers will be at every gate to sell tickets.
Only festival-goers will pay this fee, NOT staff and guests of the university.
- Staff members and students of the UFS will have free access upon presentation of their staff and student cards. All service providers, shop owners, conference attendants and other guests of the university will be provided with complimentary tickets for the duration of the Vryfees.
All five gates of the university will be in use during the festival: the main gate (Nelson Mandela Drive), Roosmaryn (Badenhorst Street), Medical faculty (corner of DF Malherbe and Wynand Mouton Drives), Agriculture (DF Malherbe Drive) and the top gate close to Tempe (Fürstenburg Street).
Golf carts will transport festival-goers conveniently between venues and parking areas.
