The main purpose of the Gateway Parent College was to provide answers to any remaining questions during an information session for future Kovsies’ parents that recently took place on the Bloemfontein Campus.
Prof Corli Witthuhn, Vice-Rector: Research, highlighted the importance and impact of our university’s Academic and Human Projects – two major factors that contribute to the UFS being recognised globally for excellence in academic achievement and human reconciliation.
During her address, Prof Witthuhn also elaborated on our student leadership programmes – including the F1 Leadership for Change and Student Representative Council .
She furthermore stressed the importance of parents’ responsibility of keeping track of their children’s progress at university.
Different faculties and departments, such as Housing and Residence Affairs and Library and Information Services, were on hand at their respective stalls to assist prospective Kovsies and their parents where necessary.
