Reach for a Ritsim
2015-01-23

This year’s Ritsim has been officially launched at the Marmalade restaurant in Bloemfontein on Wednesday 21 January 2015.

The Ritsim is an annual Kovsies Rag Community Service (CS) magazine distributed throughout Bloemfontein during the time leading up to the Rag festivities and parade. The magazine is traditionally sold by first-year Kovsies and the proceeds are contributed to the overall Rag CS fundraising initiative.

From Friday 23 January 2015, expect to see extravagantly-dressed first-years waving around Ritsims with Marilyn Monroe on the front cover. Safety is a priority for our university. For this reason, students receive safety tips before entering the neighbourhoods of Bloemfontein. Please help keep our students safe by staying vigilant while driving, especially near robots.

Not only is the 2015 Ritsim brimming with news and information about Rag, but also contains a huge dose of the best medicine: laughter. In addition, you will get to see who the finalists are for the 2015 Rag Queen and Mr Rag.

In short – a Ritsim is a must buy if you live in Bloemfontein, are a Kovsie, have compassion for our community or simply enjoy a laugh and a good read.

Also remember not to miss the 2015 Rag procession on Saturday 31 January 2014. The procession will head through Heidedal and Mangaung towards the Twin City Mall where 10 000 meals will be distributed to members of the community in the morning. Later that day the procession will be led down Nelson Mandela Drive in Bloemfontein, ending with the family festival at the Chevrolet Park cricket stadium.
