Keitumile Moleleki is no ordinary second-year Information Technology student. Soon, he will see his fellow Kovsies walking around the campuses wearing his designs. The KovsieGear Designer of the Year winner emerged as the most creative, innovative, and authentic of all contestants.
Moleleki’s design was a merge of art and his perspective of the University of the Free State. His unique ability to portray and represent the identity of our university in his design means that his logo will feature on some Kovsie clothing sold by the KovsieGear.
Moleleki was elated when the panel of judges announced that his design will be the main attraction on a selected seasonal range at the Shop. “I am very happy, I didn’t expect to win,” he said. “Having my work displayed at KovsieGear is an honour”.
To reward this contribution to KovsieGear design development, Lacea Loader, Director of the Department of Communication and Brand Management at the University of the Free State (UFS), awarded Moleleki a R1000 prize voucher. “Congratulations on your achievement, thank you for entering and being a star,” said Loader.
The budding designer has his eyes set on the fashion industry, and is planning on starting his own clothing brand soon.
