Being at university is tough. It is very different from the school set-up you were used to, and settling into this fast-paced environment isn’t easy. This is why the Student Wellness programme presents a series of developmental workshops to make the transition easier.
These workshops are specifically designed according to the various social ideas and reformative needs students have to deal with as they enter the first-, second-, and third-year realm at Kovsies.
Workshops vital for development
It is also a vital tool for the individual development of students. The workshops are held in the gazellies of various residences on the Bloemfontein Campus at designated times. It is also designed for a specific study year.
The programme is conducted in a free-flowing social environment that allows students to voluntarily interact with each another. Students take part in exciting activities, including dominos, cultural diversity, discussions revolving around emotional intelligence, healthy sexual behaviour, meaningful relationships, and efficiently preparing themselves for career development after university. The workshops take priority in the form of CV writing, interview skills, personal branding, and financial management sessions.
For more information on the workshops, see the UFS Health & Wellness Centre’s Facebook page.
