UFS/Interstate Transport Pilot Project

The transport pilot project to assist students with transport to the Bloemfontein Campus kicked off on Monday 31 July 2017.

The route is as follows:

Starting at Loch Logan Waterfront in Kingsway;

Left into Parfitt Avenue;
Right into President Paul Kruger Avenue;
Keeping left and turn left into De Bruyn Street;
Right into Boersma Street;
Right into Lyle Street;
Left into Scholtz Street;
Right into Perm Street;
Left into President Paul Kruger Avenue;
Right into DF Malherbe Avenue;
Left into Nelson Mandela Drive;
Right into Furstenburg Road;
Right into Melville Drive;
Left into Hugo Street;
Right into Nelson Mandela Avenue;
Left into University Road (Kanseliers Road).

The route within the university will become a free zone for students to hop on/hop off, and will be as follows:

Starting in Kanseliers Road;
Right into Graduandi Avenue;
Right into Dekaans Street;
Right into Furstenburg Road;
Right at Little Professors;
Right into Sports Avenue;
Left into Dekaans Street;
Left into Graduandi Avenue;
Left into Kanseliers Road.

The reverse route, as described above, will then be followed back to Loch Logan Waterfront.

The time intervals for this will be two- (2) hourly, starting at 07:00 and ending at 20:30 with the return route.  The roster will be as follows:

07:00 at Loch Logan Waterfront
08:30 reverse route from the university back to Loch Logan Waterfront
09:00 at Loch Logan Waterfront
10:30 reverse route from the university back to Loch Logan Waterfront
11:00 at Loch Logan Waterfront
12:30 reverse route from the university back to Loch Logan Waterfront
13:00 at Loch Logan Waterfront
14:30 reverse route from the university back to Loch Logan Waterfront

15:00 no run

19:00 at Loch Logan Waterfront
20:30 reverse route from the university back to Loch Logan Waterfront

The prices will be R5 per ticket.  Cash sales will be done on the bus for the first week, where-after tickets can be purchased at the Ticket Office at Loch Logan Waterfront, and at Die Deli, Thakaneng Bridge, on campus.
