12th Frank Warren Conference on Organic Chemistry 2012

The 12th Frank Warren Conference, the specialist organic chemistry conference of the South African Chemical Institute (SACI) covering all branches of organic chemistry, was held on the UFS Bloemfontein Campus from 15 to 18 April 2012.

International speakers included Professors Bernau Abegaz (African Academy of Sciences, Nairobe), Daneel Ferreira (Mississippi), Leon Ghosez (Bordeaux), Kurt Hostettmann (Geneva), Steve Ley (Cambridge), and Dr Bhavesh Patel (Imperial College).

Local invited speakers included Professors Kenneth Swart (bioanalytical chemistry and drug development, PAREXEL), Vinesh Maharaj (indigenous knowledge systems and traditional medicines, CSIR), and Kelly Chibale (UCT).

The 12th Frank Warren lecture was presented by Professor Fanie van Heerden from UKZN.
