Research

RESEARCH PROJECTS:

1997-2003: Co-organiser and researcher of the Okavango Fish Parasite Project. (TOWARDS THE CONSERVATION OF THE ENDANGERED FISHES OF THE OKAVANGO DELTA, BOTSWANA). The Debswana Diamond Company funded this project and Land Rover SA was supplying 4X4 vehicles.

Since 2003, the Okavango Fish Parasite Project has an additional focus. We continued with our main research, i.e. the biodiversity of the Fish Parasites of the Okavango River and Delta but it also led to the development of a semi-permanent research station.

Apart from also getting involved with a few local community projects, the Leseding Research Camp has been established.

Currently, I am in the process to establish new collaborations with stakeholders in Botswana and South Africa as well as following up on existing ones.
