Access to the Bloemfontein Campus

History of the ufs http://www.ufs.ac.za/about-the-ufs

The UFS was established in 1904 as the Grey University College, with six students. Today we pride ourseleves on having more than 33 000 students thriving across three campusses. In 2003 the university brought in the Qwaqwqa Campus - situated in the picturesque Eastern Free State - and in 2004 the South Campus - nestled in the hills overlooking the vibrant city of Bloemfontein - into its fold.

In recent times, the university has put itself on the globalo stage, fostering relations with international universities and increasing international exposure for staff and students. We have hosted several local and international distinguished guests; celebrities, academics and business leaders.

We pride ourselves on producing ground-breaking research in Nanoscience, Chemistry, Plant Sciences, Biotechnology and Cardiothoracic Surgery.
